Our closest neighbor to the east
Aurora is enormous — it stretches across three counties — but the part we build in most is the part right next door: the southeast neighborhoods off E-470 and Smoky Hill Road. Saddle Rock, Tallyn's Reach, Sorrel Ranch, Beacon Point, and the blocks around Southlands are ten to twenty minutes from our Centennial shop, closer than half the metro areas we serve. When we build here, the crew is effectively working from home base.
Hail alley's material problem
Southeast Aurora sits squarely in one of the most hail-prone corridors in the country — the same storms that keep the region's roofers busy are brutal on stained and painted wood decks. It's the single strongest argument for capped composite in this part of the metro: the polymer cap takes hail strikes without the pitting and finish damage that send wood decks into an annual sand-and-restain cycle. Pair it with a pergola or solid-roof cover and the deck stays usable when the weather turns — which, on the high plains east of the city, it does with enthusiasm.
Two generations of decks, one fix
Aurora's southeast filled in across two waves — the 1990s–2000s neighborhoods are now replacing their original builder-grade decks, while newer communities are upgrading platforms that were always too small for how the houses actually live. Both projects end the same way: an engineered, permitted deck sized for real use. Our two-tier composite build just across the Centennial line is the template for a lot of what we do here — outdoor dining up top, shaded lounge below, and railing chosen to keep the plains view rather than block it.
When a deck is tired but its bones are good, the honest answer is often cheaper than a rebuild. We inspect the ledger, footings, and framing first, then quote a repair or re-deck when that's genuinely the right call and a full replacement when it isn't.
City of Aurora permits, handled
Deck work in Aurora runs through the city's building division regardless of which county your address technically sits in, and most southeast neighborhoods add HOA design review on top. We produce the drawings, pull the permit, file the HOA paperwork, and manage inspections end to end — the same process we run across the Front Range. Budgeting first? Our Denver-area composite cost guide has real installed numbers, and a free on-site consultation gets you a real one for your yard.
